Google Maps

I haven't used GoogleMaps before, but I thought that I would give it try so that I could at least have some idea of how far I would have to travel from airports in Madrid and Rome to my hotels.

I'm pretty impressed with how easy it was to ask for directions in GoogleMaps from one place to another. Once I'd taken a closer look at the route from Madrid Barajas Apt to my hotel I could easily see that I can use the metro subway! When I clicked on Link to this Page on the top right hand side of GoogleMaps, it very conveniently gave me options of customizing and previewing an embeddable map for a website. How convenient is that? I liked the way it also gave you an approximate distance too!

Here it is .....just 1.3kms

And now I know that it's about 32kms from the Leonardo Da Vinci Airport to my hotel in Rome. I also know that I can take the train from the Airport to .3km away from my hotel.

What an earth did travellers do before the internet and GoogleMaps????
